Our Information and Support Groups are informal gatherings for people living with myeloma, their family and friends.

These meetings provide a safe space to meet other members of the myeloma community to share their experiences of living with myeloma, and to learn from various guest speakers from a health management and practical perspective. The groups have been highly valued by the myeloma community since the beginning of the organisation and we have seen an increase in the number of groups in recent years, with over 50 groups around the country.

We are committed to providing ongoing education and support to our existing groups during the COVID-19 pandemic however due to the risk that the virus poses to people living with myeloma, Myeloma Australia have decided to replace our scheduled face-to-face groups with online group meetings until further notice.

The groups will be conducted through ‘Zoom’ videoconferencing technology which can be accessed through a computer or smartphone with an internet connection. If telephone is your preferred communication, there will be an option in Zoom to dial in or alternatively you may be interested in joining the National Telephone Support Group which is facilitated with the Cancer Council. Please contact the Cancer Council NSW on 1300 755 632 to register.

Regarding the upcoming group meetings, your local Myeloma Support Nurses will be in touch regarding the plan for your local meetings and how to access the Zoom meetings. If you have any questions or difficulty accessing our meetings via Zoom please call our Head Office on 1300 632 100 (Toll Free) and we recommend you check our website and social media channels (facebook and twitter) for updates and group meeting details as well as our updated  COVID-19 fact sheet

If you wish to speak with a specialist Myeloma Support Nurse please call our Telephone Support Line on 1800 693 566.
