Myeloma Australia recognises that healthcare professionals in regional, rural and remote areas have unique insights into their local communities and healthcare needs.

While education and support for myeloma patients can be more challenging to access outside of metropolitan areas, we believe in fostering an “in-place” model of support. The Nurse Link program aims to bridge this gap by offering mentorship and education opportunities to regional nurses, leveraging their local expertise and enhancing it with specialist myeloma nurse support.

Myeloma Australia’s Nurse Link program has been designed to provide education and mentorship to nurses working in regional, rural and remote areas. It offers education, collaboration and networking opportunities to nurses in regional, rural and remote areas, enhancing their ability to support the local myeloma community.

Benefits for people living with myeloma in regional, rural or remote locations:

  • A locally accessible resource and support person
  • Reassurance of access to up-to-date information about myeloma and its treatment.
  • Local knowledge informed by ongoing support and mentorship from Myeloma Australia Specialist Myeloma Nurses

Our Link Nurses provide vital connection and context with the local myeloma community so that appropriate information and support services can be facilitated in regional areas as we strive for equity of access to Myeloma Australia’s support services.
