Research and advocacy

Myeloma Australia champions the needs of our community through raising funds for research, contributing to advances in care through our Medical and Scientific Advisory Group and advocating for better access to therapies, informed policy decisions, and high-quality, equitable care nationwide.

Myeloma Australia is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with myeloma through a strong commitment to research and advocacy. By funding innovative studies, partnering with clinicians and researchers, and amplifying the voices of our community, we work to advance treatment options and shape a more responsive, patient-centred healthcare system. Our advocacy efforts focus on influencing policy, improving equitable access to therapies, and ensuring that the needs of the myeloma community are recognised at every level of decision-making.

There are many ways for you to get involved and make a meaningful difference. These include participating in awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and community events, or by volunteering your time and expertise. You are also encouraged to share your experiences of living with or supporting someone with myeloma by making consumer comments to regulatory bodies such as PBAC and MSAC or by participating in research activities. Your input will help drive improvements in care and outcomes for all Australians living with myeloma.
